Every Autumn harvest our family invites the public out to unite with us in an evening of traditional grape stomping and live entertainment with a South American flavour. Our acclaimed Harvest Festivals feature Kantuta band and dazzling Brazilian dancers which blended with our own Mediterranean buffet and Vilagrad wines make for an unmatched occasion of celebration. Prepare yourself, your family and friends for an exquisite occasion of fine wine, food and entertainment.
You will be warmly greeted by the Nooyen family and staff. Enjoy the luxury of an award-winning wine while dining under the original canopy of grape vines planted one century ago. Experience traditional winemaking methods by trampling grapes in the huge barrel and witness the grapes being pressed by one of New Zealand's historic basket presses. Then let the Harvest festivities carry you away for a night to remember.
Harvest Festival takes place on the
24th of
April, and the
1st and
8th of May. Bookings are essential
(limited tickets). We now have new onsite accommodation.
Harvest Menu
Starters:
Anti pasta platters, homemade mini pizzas, smoked salmon vol u vents, samosa, spring rolls, toasted and fresh bread with dips, cheese, and carrot sticks.
Mains:
Whole Spit roast pork - orignal recipe gravy & apple sauce
Fresh whole snapper & steamed mussels in white wine and cream reduced oyster mushroom sauce.
Marinated roasted chicken with toasted sesame seeds
European salads: Green lettuce salad, Spanish salad with parsnip chips and Vilagrads roasted nuts, Meditereanen Pasta Salad (Italian pasta salad served with roasted vegetables, olives, fetta & pinenuts in fresh tomato & basil dressing). All served with Vilagrads famous dressings.
Steamed garden vegetables with white wine reduction sweet chilli coconut cream sauce. Roasted gourmet potatoes, kumara, pumpkin, garlic & onion
Indian lentils with ginger, cumin, coriander, onion & tomato
Selection of homemade relishes, chutneys, tapenades, pesto, sour cream & chives
Desserts:
Meringues filled with sherry infused dried apricots & brandy cream. White chocolate & passionfruit cake. Blueberry & hazelnut chocolate cheesecake. Caramel sauce, yoghurt, cream & fresh fruit salad.
Later, gourmet cheese board & selection of breads and cured meats. Freshly brewed European style coffee & tea served throughout the evening.
